Quickly change the appearance of the folders on your desktop with Folder Colorizer.

Even though Windows allows you to make minor changes to the appearance of your desktop, you might want a little more control over your computer’s color scheme. Folder Colorizer is a lightweight app that allows you to quickly change the base colors of your folders with a few clicks of the mouse. In addition to a handful of default colors, you can also use the color palette to make custom shades.

Using Folder Colorizer couldn’t be easier, and this app becomes a default option within your desktop once it has been installed. After installing Folder Colorizer, all you have to do is right-click on the folder and choose the Colorizer tab. From there, a small pop-up screen is going to appear with a handful of default colors to choose from. That includes generic options such as yellow, blue, green, silver, and red.

If you aren’t interested in one of the default colors, then you can switch over to the color palette. With the color palette, you will be able to move the cursor around until you find a color that you are happy with. Once you have found the perfect color, Folder Colorizer gives you the option of creating a custom name for it.

Even though Folder Colorizer is completely free to use, a small message will regularly ask for donations when it is being used. That being said, the funding requests are mostly unobtrusive, and this program continues to be one of the easiest ways to customize the folders on your desktop.
